First time central heating grants (FTCH) are available as part of the ECO4 Scheme. The scheme is a government initiated scheme and is intended to run from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2026. The main objective of ECO4 is to deliver improvements to the least energy-efficient homes in Great Britain to tackle fuel poverty and help reduce energy bills.
This is achieved through installation of energy efficient upgrades such as heating upgrades, insulation and renewable measures. The scheme is funded by the biggest energy providers such as British Gas, EDF, EON and more
If you have no heating system or a system that doesn’t involve a boiler and radiators, then you will be eligible for the grant. Please see below the full list of heating types which enable you to qualify:
If you’re a homeowner or a tenant you could be eligible for ECO4. There are three qualifying criteria:
1. Receive benefits - if anyone in your household received one of the following benefits.
2. House hold income is under £31,000 - if your total house hold annual income is under £31,000 and your home meets the criteria for funding.
3. Health conditions - You can still apply for funding through the Local Authority Flex Scheme! (LA Flex) You may qualify for LA Flex funding if you or someone in the property suffers from Health Conditions such as Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Immunosuppression or Limited Mobility.
